A SAFE PLACE TO HEAL FROM HURTS, HABITS AND HANG-UPS IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF FELLOWSHIP, PRAISE & WORSHIP

The Purpose of CHURCH IN THE CITY’S Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to "be changed." We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our lives' problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

Recovery Groups Currently Offered:

Men's Groups

Chemical Dependency and Mixed Issues

If you struggle trying to quit drinking or using entirely, or if you have little control over the amount you consume, you are probably an alcoholic and/or addict. Mixed issues address other dependencies/addictions (i.e. food, sex, gambling), anger/rage, co-dependency, abuse issues, to name a few. We claim freedom and victory over dependencies and addictions one day at a time with the help of our Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

Sexual Addiction:

Sexual addiction is described as an overpowering desire for pleasureable relief from an inner pain, emptiness or insecurity that we are not able to cope with in any other way. Are you sexually addicted? Do you use sex to escape? Do you feel the right relationship would fulfill all your needs?
Do you find you are unable to resist a sexual overture? Have you found that you are unable to resist sex or sexual images? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we welcome you to attend this group and get the help and support you need. For more information, please contact Celebrate Recovery at 303-322-5733 Ext 11, email celebraterecovery@churchinthecity.org

Women's Groups

Chemical Dependency and Mixed Issues:

If you struggle trying to quit drinking or using entirely, or if you have little control over the amount you consume, you are probably an alcoholic and/or addict. Mixed issues address other dependencies/addictions (i.e. food, sex, gambling), anger/rage, co-dependency, abuse issues, to name a few. We claim freedom and victory over dependencies and addictions one day at a time with the help of our Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

Physical, Sexual and Emotional Abuse:
Having admitted our powerlessness over our past, we believe and trust in God and His power to restore us to wholeness. We renounce the shame, guilt and lie that the abuse was our fault and extend forgiveness toward our perpetrators as well as ourselves. We claim Gods promise of restoration and wholeness.
Women’s Co-Dependency:
Codependents learn to gain self-worth through Jesus Christ and simply because we are created by God; we learn how to “act” rather than “react,” how to live balanced lives taking responsibility for our own health and well being. Codependents learn how to hold healthy boundaries, choose balanced behavior, help others in appropriate ways (by allowing others to act independently) and how to be God-directed and free from compulsiveness, knowing that God brings the ultimate results.
